Qualcomm is definitely working on a new flagship processor and most likely it is called Snapdragon 865.
While we really don't know anything about the Snapdragon 865, a new Geekbench list has appeared showing a new Qualcomm processor that could be the Snapdragon 865.
The list shows a new Qualcomm processor with code name Kona, which obtained 4149 and 12915 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. That is an improvement over scores published by Snapdragon 855, which averages 3500 and 11000 in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.
Also notable is the fact that the base clock speed for the chipset is 1.8GHz, which is higher than the Snapdragon 855 1.78GHz.
The Geekbench list shows the chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and running Android 10. Obviously, since this is a leak, we suggest you take this information with a pinch of salt.
Qualcomm usually launches its flagship chipsets at the Qualcomm Technology Summit held in December, so we should get more information about the chip in the months prior to the actual launch.
Even so, these scores seem a big enough improvement over the performance offered by the Snapdragon 855. Whether they do it or not, keep in mind that it is very likely that it is a test unit and that the Snapdragon 865 real ends up offering even better performance.
