The dedicated application for Microsoft's Xbox smartphones is an excellent way for players to stay engaged with their game friends while they are in movement. Like the Sony PlayStation app, the Xbox app allows users to buy games, share content, view their achievements and send updates to their followers on Xbox Live. It also provides additional tools to view achievements, control movie playback and access social elements such as profiles and messages, all of which are much more convenient than logging into your console or PC to do the same. How to connect your phone to an Xbox One
Step 1: Download the Xbox application  xbox-app-screen-2 “/>
Before downloading the Xbox application for iOS or Android, you'll want to update your smartphone or tablet to the latest version of their respective operating system. IOS users need version 9.0 or higher to run the application. Microsoft recommends that Android users have version 4.1 or higher. Once updated, go to iTunes or Google Play Store and enter "Xbox" in the search field to locate the application.
Touch the Install button to start downloading the application to your smartphone or tablet and launch it once it is installed. Then, sign in to your Xbox account when prompted.
Step 2: Connect to your network
To synchronize your Xbox One and your phone, both devices must be online. To verify your network on Xbox One, go to the Settings menu, then select Network and finally "Network Settings."
On your smartphone, go to the network / Wi-Fi menu in the preferences or system settings of your device. If your Xbox One is not connected, select Set up wireless network choose the network you want and enter the corresponding password if requested. Both devices must be within range of your network to connect.
Certain features, such as using your phone as a remote control for Xbox One, require that both your Xbox One and your phone be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Others, such as checking their achievements and activity, work whenever both devices are connected to the Internet.
Step 3: Synchronize your smartphone with your console
While using In the Xbox application, touch the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner to bring up the main menu. From here, you can access most of the functions, but for now, just touch Console . After a second, an option Connect to your Xbox One should appear near the top of the screen.
When you tap, a list of available Xbox consoles that you can connect to will appear. Assuming yours is the only one on the list, tap the icon labeled Xbox-SystemOS unless you have renamed it, and then Active .
Voila! Your smartphone and your Xbox are now soulmates. You should now be able to use your smartphone as a controller and keyboard, although this functionality is limited to the Xbox operating system. There is currently no integration into the game on the second screen.
Step 4: Use the application
Connecting is easy, but learning how to use the Xbox application takes a little time and understanding. Again, when you touch the three horizontal bars in the upper left corner of the application, the menu will appear, allowing you to view your profile and achievements, as well as your recorded clips and screenshots, and access the Xbox Store, among other things . . When you touch the icon of your avatar, your friends list will appear, while the icons next to it control messages and notifications, respectively. A new icon, represented by three avatars, even allows you to start a party chat while traveling.
Step 5: Control your Xbox One with the application
We are not completely sure why you would choose to control your Xbox One with your phone in instead of a controller, but the Xbox app makes it possible. Once you have connected your Xbox One to your phone, you will see a small remote symbol in the lower right corner of the application screen. Select it and you will access a mostly black screen that presents the four buttons on the face, as well as the start button, the view button and the menu button.
You can now control your Xbox One by dragging your finger across the screen to select a tile, then press "A" in the center of the screen to confirm it. Will you ever use it? Probably not, but it is an option!
